FashionLash, a cosmetics retailer, needed a modern, minimalist e-commerce site focused on product presentation and user experience optimization. The existing site was ineffective and failed to attract customers. The goal of the redesign was to simplify the shopping path.
Before starting the design, we conducted detailed research to better understand the client's business and consumer behavior. It turned out that the majority of customers are regular returners, making purchases on a monthly basis, mainly via mobile devices. This knowledge was crucial to the entire design approach - the new site had to be mobile-friendly first and foremost, and provide a seamless user experience.
We started the project by prototyping the new site in Figma tool, using components of Relume - a set of tools and resources to support web designers in the low-code era, popular among Webflow developers. We used the base desgn system provided by Relume (in the Client First standard) along with ready-made CSS classes. This ensured a consistent naming convention throughout the site and a uniform style across all its pages.
Our team set out to fully customize the project, transforming the finished prototype into a unique, completely custom WordPress template. Implementation on the WordPress platform allowed for flexible content management and easy updates by the client.
Using WordPress as the foundation for the site also enabled integration with a variety of plug-ins, which in turn extended the site's functionality with additional options such as advanced SEO, user experience personalization and marketing automation
Implementing this custom project on WordPress not only strengthened FashionLash's position in the beauty industry, but also allowed us as designers to demonstrate our technical and creative skills in developing personalized e-commerce solutions that meet the client's specific needs and expectations.
